Huge shout out to the Speak Foundation @thespeakfoundation , NMD United - ALEF @nmdunited , and the Colorado Fund for MD @colorado.fmd for approving my grants and helping offset the cost of this adaptive product. I highly suggest you donate to these organizations who do everything in their power to support individuals like me with neuromuscular diseases.  My dream toilet, the LiftSeat arrived. The extra add-on features I bought were: the bidet and backup battery supply so when the electricity goes out, I can still use it. Thankfully I can now get up and down with one fell swoop without having to hyperextend and contort my body in odd positions. The entire structure is sturdy and is portable in case I need to move it to another bathroom in my home. We made a few modifications to the bathroom: repainted the wall behind the toilet, took the door off so I could do a 360°-turn, added a second outlet, and replaced the vanity with a roll-under sink. Unfortunately the door was the largest issue and reversing the hinges to open on the outside of the frame, a pocket door, or a barn door were not viable solutions. The only workaround to not having enough clearance for a full turn was using a privacy curtain.  It's not perfect but it works. Sadly it reminds me how the simple things can become arduous tasks and

Sadly it reminds me how the simple things can become arduous tasks and "easy" is hardly a word I use any longer. https://www.nmdunited.org/donate https://thespeakfoundation.com/grant-programs https://www.coloradofmd.org #LiftSeat #ToiletLift #PowerToiletLift #FallPrevention #homecare #NeuromuscularDisease #MuscularDystrophy #AdaptiveProduct #AccessibleHomeDesign #accessibility #adaptive #independence #LGMD
