You are wrong. Modern cameras are ISO invariant. All ISO does is set where your dynamic range will sit.

This point seems bad.. what if instead of underexposing at a low iso you properly exposed at a low iso? It seems obvious that digitally raising the exposure in post would increase noise.. so…

Raising ISO does not increase exposure, it increases brightness. exposure and brightness are not the same thing.

Eh, most newer professional cameras are ISO invariant. So this isn't true. now it is true for dual native ISO cameras. but even then, really just for it's 2 base ISOs. other than that it's invariant.

this is a great video & explanation, it's always good to over expose the shadows and then adjust rather than underexpose and create noise..... this is the best explanation for ISO I ever got

Yeah unless I have strong highlights. In a way, negative film was better for night photography, since you can bring back highlights way better

Nope. If you shoot at ISO100 and go +5EV it will look exactly the same as if you would shoot at ISO3200.

Ideally, you should shoot at your sensor's native iso, which will always give you the best dynamic range possible for the camera
