Take the old pad off. These will still catch hair/dust. They also sell them in square for square legs on Amazon.

My dog views these as her special chew toy. She actually targets them, removes them in seconds, and hides under the bed to chew on them. I’m surprised she hasn’t figured out how to blow bubbles.

FYI, those will also collect dog hair and dust and then get torn up. But they do help.
