@misteramazingofficial: The Enlightenment project Kant inaugurates, "Aufklärung," goes in two directions - Optimistic and Pessimistic. Marx inherits the optimism of the enlightenment in labor power, Nietzsche inherits the pessimism of the incoherence of man's place in the universe in the will to power. The will to power (perhaps incorrectly) justified the National Socialist German Workers' Party, labor power (perhaps incorrectly) justified the Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party. Thus, a world war broke out between two sides of the enlightenment and their opposing worldviews - optimism in labor and pessimism in will. Thus as Jürgen Habermas would later write, Enlightenment is as yet unfinished. #History #culture #philosophy #society ##analysis##marx##nietzsche##hegel##schopenhauer
