i mean, yes but he’s not a siren. he’s a merman. he said himself “basically a siren is a deceitful witch” and i feel like he was referring to mc as the abyssal witch when talking about that siren he painted. though he acts bubbly and cute hiding his true nature, he doesn’t mean any harm. he obviously has some type of abandonment issues/anxious attachment style. he wants mc close and he wants to keep her safe as they all do. he’s also scared she will leave again. rafayel is also mischaracterized most of the time because the complexity of his character and emotions
