@sheldricktrust: Our eagle-eyed pilot, Roan, spotted something unusual in lake Jipe. Turning back, he landed the Super Cub close by and waded out to what transpired to be a heron caught on an illegal trotline, loaded with hooks! After freeing the bird from the line, he popped the soaked creature in a safe spot, before reeling in the full line, which had tragically killed two other birds. The heron was cold, wet, and shaken, but otherwise - and amazingly - uninjured. Able to dry out in the sun, he was soon on his way. A rather different rescue for us, but our team are always on the look out and ready to intervene if and when nature needs a helping hand.
