I think Brennan is connected to naolin like the wyvern are, bc the wyvern have runes too so maybe indirectly naolin may be uses Brennan as a watch dog bc they still know alot of stuff going on..

the thing is Naolin left a rune, JB left gray handprints on Dane so they’re 2 different things. Naolin definitely was not venin when he saved Brennan and runes they have to make

I think the mark is something to do with Malek. Perhaps when Naolin resurrected him some deal was made with Malek and Brennan got marked

In IF, Violet is talking to professor Kaori when she first learns about Tairn and his precious rider, and learns Naolin died trying to save Brennan and asks why anyone would try to resurrect someone. Kaori says it’s because it would make them a god. Isn’t that what Theophanie said she wanted, too? I was like 😳
