my mom had one. She was always pulling out a button to see on things. Buttons could be reused. They removed them from everything before they discarded the item.

I got mine at an auction 50 years ago and I keep them in a a jar. Don’t sew anymore but I still keep them just in case lol

Passed on down… Just inherited my mothers collection. She had her own✅ Her mothers✅ A small collection from her mothers mother✅ and quite a few from her mothers sister✅ cookie tin✅🥰
