If i choose to start my SS at 62 and stay in my current job (making more than the cut off) the govt keeps $1 per every $2? Let’s say I retire (no work) at 65, how do I get that money back?

I disagree. My wife took her portion of my Railroad Retirement at 62. We did quite well until she turned 70. Her SS at 62 was less than my portion. At 70 she receives $1000 more per month than she did

I’m 62 now, I went ahead and retired this year. I don’t understand the government holding my 1st check for 2 months after turning 62. Makes no sense. I filed for my S.S in November of 2024.
