@thesovgc: Per usual, the Soviets were in a class of their own on vaulting at the 1991 World Gymnastics Championships in Indianapolis 🇺🇸. While the vast majority of top teams were performing a layout full-twisting Yurchenko, the Soviets had three gymnasts performing a Yurchenko entry vault with a DOUBLE twist (Kalinina, Lysenko, Gutsu). Both vaults were out of a 10, but the Soviet Way was to show what is possible in sport. Two gymnasts (Galiyeva, Chusovitina) showed a traditional handspring entry vault—again rare to see as a preferred vault. Only team captain, veteran Svetlana Boginskaya, performed the easier FTY—which she did near faultlessly. I have used what I détermined to be the better of the two vaults for each gymnast, alongside its corresponding score.
