Fun fact the fastest official steam engine is in fact Mallard because it had the tracking CA behind it but in cases like the Pennsylvania s1 completing sections of track in times where it would've had

Unfortunately they won’t steam it, the boiler is shot(had to run at reduced pressure in 88), she’s closer to original than most of the other A4’s. Plus I feelshe’s more valuable than Flying Scotsman.

there's 3 running A4s, if Mallard was restored, there'd be naff all left of the origional loco, she's a preserved engine. keep her that way.
