Yesterday Columbia refused to take US deportation flights because they came on military planes and they say that’s dehumanizing. So President Trump placed a 25% tariff on all goods from Colombia, and they’ll go up to 50% in a week. 17% of all coffee in America comes from Colombia, and most of our fresh cut flowers also do… Valentine’s Day is only 18 days away. We also import oil, bananas, sugar, chocolate, among many other things from them. So in order to “punish” Colombia, you have to pay more. Colombia has placed retaliatory tariffs of 50% on America in response. With the Colombia President releasing a statement basically saying… Let's fight. He says Trump will try to coup him, but that striking him down will only make him stronger. He added that Trump’s greed will end the whole human race. And then implied the rest of the Americas will be joining Colombia in this fight against the US. Columbia is a critical ally of the United States, it’s the most pro-American country in South America but Trump is now making them pay a higher tariff than China. With experts saying if you wanted to let China win the new Cold War, you’d be doing exactly this.
