Sam Shamoun PROVES Muslims and Christians DO NOT Worship the Same GOD The term "El" in the Hebrew Bible, though also used by Canaanites for their high god, unequivocally refers to the one true God, the Creator of all things. Similarly, the Hebrew word "Baal" can mean master, husband, or lord, and is used in Isaiah 54:5 to describe God as the husband of Israel. This demonstrates that the mere sharing of titles or names with pagan deities does not equate to the worship of the same entity. The God of Israel stands supreme, distinct, and unparalleled, regardless of linguistic similarities. The Apostle Paul, in his mission to spread the Gospel, adeptly utilized familiar terminology from various cultures to convey the truth about Christ. By referencing the altar to the "unknown god" in Athens (Acts 17:23) and quoting pagan poets (Acts 17:28), Paul redirected these concepts to reveal the one true God, thereby reclaiming and redefining them in the light of Christ's revelation. This strategic approach underscores the transformative power of the Gospel to transcend and redefine cultural and religious boundaries, leading all to the truth of Jesus Christ. "For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth." - Isaiah 54:5 - God as the husband and redeemer of Israel. "For in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we also are His children.'" - Acts 17:28 - Paul quoting pagan poets to reveal the true God. "For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, 'TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.' Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you." - Acts 17:23 - Paul using an altar to an unknown god to introduce the true God.
