This started in NYC about a year ago. The first pints with security locks were Hagen Das. The second brand to get locked was Ben & Jerry’s. It was for loss prevention.

Maybe tampering, or maybe it’s just cause they are small (easy to steal) expensive items. Like how they have anti theft locks on lots of hygiene, beauty, and laundry items these days.

Not at my store but, I'm not in a big city. My experience working at walmart they lock up things that are stolen or tampered with alot. It's a per store situation. Sometimes it's a district thing.

They’re most likely being locked up because that’s an item that’s getting stolen the most like at the CVS by me the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream has been locked up for a long time now like I almost cried

common practice in canadian stores in large downtowns, my local 7/11 and the grocery shop i worked at started locking our B&Js years ago, they are a common target for shoplifting ever since the 1/2
