@martinlewismse: Finally there’s a ban on firms hiking mobile & broadband bills mid-contract linked to inflation. Yet the way they’ve done it means some winners and some losers – which are you. My quick video briefing…

Chris :
What's the point of a contract if they just increase the price anyway.

if I'm locked into a contract, they should be too. No price hikes in a contract ever. this is still weak from Ofcom.

its just a massive con.. when you agree a contract at a price, it should be the the same price all the way through.

In my opinion, if the price goes up halfway through your contract, the contract you have signed is invalid and voided

its not enough.... if i take out a loan for a fixed tern i know what i am paying for the term. there should be no changes to contract price when locked into a term. any anticipated increases frontload

I see no real difference really...just transparency rather than banning anything. They'll all find ways round it anyway, whichever way it ultimately goes.

I don't understand the price hike... You have a contract that's the price.. If they're losing money it's on them

Almost all contracts have price increases written in so they are basically unavoidable; how does a contract mean anything if even the price isn't set

Regulators need regulated. They all seem to be in the pockets of these companies that charge whatever they want when they want.

There should be no price increases. You’ve entered into a contract with them, and if the price is going up, you should have the option of ending the contract and going elsewhere

In Finland operators can't do that. If they are selling contracts like 23 euro/month and it's for 12 months. They have to keep that price to the end of the contract. They can't change it.
