@skyenish: Me when I’m rich but no one loves me —— I’ve been absolutely obsessed with Cabaret for a while, and to see it go viral is a delight! So naturally I wanted to pay tribute to a musical I love dearly by animatic Scarabia over it. Once again I tried to change the meaning of the song a little, interpreting it differently so it can apply to Kalim! I love unique takes on songs or art in general like that. This specifically is about how Kalim has money, and how he “bought” his relationship with Jamil (even if he didn’t do it consciously), and how when Jamil betrayed him Kalim was left all alone. All that money and for what? He’s just a rich boy, with no one. The first part of the animatic shows how Kalim happens to be rich and can “pay” for his friendship with Jamil, since he’s his servant. How Kalim feels alone because everyone betrays him, but it’s okay since he has Jamil, the companion, the “maid”. Then the animatic shows how when Jamil leaves Kalim, he’s lost. He cries out for despair, and though the song tells him to just go recover on a new 14-karat yacht, it’s not that easy for Kalim. I hope you all enjoy the animatic!
