How old are you? I’ve tried tipping over 10 years ago. They all told me to take my tip back. So think it’s a younger generation thing that accept tip maybe.

I’m in Japan and I tried to leave a tip of 50 yen after paying with 3 100 yen coins for a small 250 yen meal. The woman practically begged me to take the 50 yen before I could walk out..

I’ve been to sushi restaurants in America that would say tipping was rude… while they had a tip jar at the sushi bar….. was only ‘rude’ for the waiting staff it seemed.
