it’s time to get your mjadera right with korkys fool proof mjadera recipe . For my recipe which feeds 3-4 I used 1 cup brown lentils washed and soaked 2 cups extra course burgul @durubulguraus (Refer to video for a pic of the packet ! ) 2 brown onions 🧅 1 for the emjadera and 1 for the garnish at the end . Olive oil 2 tbs butter (I use western star salted ) 2 tsp salt Approx 400 mil water . (200ml for soaking lentils , 200 ml boiling water for cooking ) . Soak lentils in 200 mls water at least 1 hour before making this . You can soak as long as you want . Cook off 1 diced brown onion well in olive oil and add to the lentils . Do not soak the burgul BUT wash it well first . Once the soak time is over bring the lentils n onions to a boil on high heat AS SOON AS YOU SEE BUBBLES and those lentils are about to boil add the burgul , butter , salt and mix through well . Add a further 200ml BOILING water and cook like normal rice . Bring to a boil and immediately cover and lower the heat to lowest setting . After about 10 mins open the pot and mix the mjadera well , turn off heat and leave to fal fel a further 5 mins (cover it back up ) . The soaking of the lentils is what makes them cook same time as the rice . You’ll have beautiful EM FAL FAL mjadera every time ! Tip - this is a approx estimate with water you may need a little more when boiling the lentils so just keep in mind . Please don’t add too much water but otherwise it becomes emkhabas. (Gluggy) For every cup of lentils you need 2 cups of washed burgul . Best served with some tangy fattoush salad which you can find in my reels 😊. Sahten and enjoy Korky xx #korkyskitchen #burgul #lentils #butter #onion #lunch #dinner #Recipe #onepot #heresmyfood #homecooking #cook #homemade #food #feed #instayum #yummy #lebanon #lebanesefood #lebanesecuisine #arabfood #authentic #classic #vegetarian #mumsrecipes
