I studied in Benin in 2006 and it felt like home. Then my DNA test confirmed Benin is 34% of my ancestry. This is great news! I just worry about displacing the local population.

I’m full Beninese, Benin is located in west Africa, it was colonized by the Portuguese and French so there are many francophone speakers there (very hard to find English speakers). Hope this helps!

Bénin does dual citizenship. so of you have citizenship from a country that does too then you keep it and can still use that passport to travel.
