@missclairebenjamin: 🚨 Handling hard worker “punishment”👇 Being reliable and hard working are both great traits. Sometimes though if we don’t know how to assert ourselves and set boundaries we can find ourselves in a situation where we’re taken advantage of. We must learn how to communicate our limits and boundaries to people. If we haven’t told someone our limits they cannot know what they are. (PS My course People Mastery is open for enrolment until Friday 31st January. I teach you step by step how to master assertiveness and boundaries so you don’t find yourself in situations like this anymore. Go to missclairebenjamin.com/enrol for details) It’s important to let them know your limits and needs directly and respectfully. Here are 3 steps I would recommend: 1️⃣ Let them know it’s uncomfortable for you raising it as you are naturally a hard worker and want to support. This signals to them that you wouldn’t be raising it without good reason. 2️⃣ Communicate your limits and why by sharing the potential consequences. For example: “I’ve been really happy to put in these extra hours over the last few months due to XYZ. I cannot maintain the hours I’m currently working though, if I do I’m going to make mistakes and burnout completely which isn’t good for anyone” 3️⃣ Share clearly what you need to change. For example: “I need us to have a conversation about how to start spreading the workload more evenly across the team and upskilling people?” 💬 Have you ever felt like this? Share your experiences in the comments 👀 📌 Please remember the advice offered in this video is generalised and intended for guidance purposes only. It will not fit every situation so please use your own judgment based on your own unique situation. 💾 Save this for when you might need it ✈️ Share with someone who this could help 🚀 Follow for more tips on handling tricky situations at work #worktips #leadershipdevelopment #work #corporatelife #emotionalintelligence #difficultconversations #communicationskills #assertivecommunication #boundaries

As a neurodivergent I hate that I have to do everything but I also hate when others don’t do the task the way I want them to or teaching people again and again is tiring too when they aren’t listening

What bothers me is that the employee needs to even say this. Managers, companies, bosses who are like this shouldn’t have to be “trained” by an employee on how to be a boss
