A rich, silky dark chocolate mousse covering fresh, juicy strawberries on an Oreo crust. 😮‍💨 Ingredients Crust: - 150g Oreo cookies (without cream) - 50g melted butter Chocolate Mousse: - 400g dark chocolate, chopped - 500ml heavy whipping cream - 3 egg yolks - 10g gelatin (6 sheets) - 17-20 fresh strawberries Topping: - cocoa powder Square pan: 15 cm/6 inches Instructions 1. Seperate the Oreo cookies and remove the cream (you won’t need it for this recipe). 2. Crush the cookies into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a square cake pan, smoothing it out evenly. 2. Arrange the strawberries upright along the edges and throughout the base on top of the crust. Make sure the strawberries are placed tightly together, otherwise they’ll float when the mousse is poured in. Place in the fridge while you prepare the mousse. 3. Soak the gelatin sheets in cold water for 5-10 minutes until they become soft. Squeeze out any excess water and set aside. 4. In a saucepan, stir chocolate and cream together over low heat until completely melted and smooth. Whisk in egg yolks and softened gelatin until fully dissolved. Let it cool down to room temperature. 5. Pour the chocolate mousse over the strawberries, ensuring it fills all the gaps. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best texture. 6. Once fully set, wrap a hot towel around the cake pan for a few seconds to loosen it, then carefully remove the cake from the mold.
