@seaworld.photos: SeaWorld Orlando was choosen by NOAA to be this little dolphin’s home after he was found stranded & all alone in the ocean last year! Vortex was only a few hours to a few days old when he was rescued & brought to a facility for rehabilitation. He is now 1 and a half year old calf & is living with a pod of dolphins at SeaWorld Orlando. Vortex currently lives with a juvenile female dolphin named Ember. Also in the pod with Vortex and Ember are Bree (Ember’s mom), Dash, Ariel, Yar & Yar’s mom, Tasha! Currently, Vortex has been spending a lot of time with Bree who has taken him under her wing. Her daughter Ember is 4 & is in her teenage era! Vortex has a cute underbite just like Ember & Bree do! He really looks like he could be Bree’s son & Ember’s sister! He’s adorable & is very curious, interactive & playful! Despite being only 1.5 years old, he’s quite large already! He earned his name due to his unique swim patterns! He likes to swim upside down in circles. He is learning husbandry or health care behaviors currently!
