I was betrayed by someone I trusted deeply, and I honestly thought I had healed from it and moved on. I believed I had accepted what happened and left it in the past. But lately, it feels like it’s coming back to haunt me again—like the memories, the emotions, and the pain are resurfacing out of nowhere.
It’s frustrating because I’m trying to be okay, but some days it just hits me all over again. The thoughts replay in my mind, and it feels like I’m back in that moment, even though time has passed. I didn’t think it would still affect me like this, but it does… and it hurts.
What makes it harder is that it doesn’t always come with warning. Something small can trigger it, and suddenly I’m overwhelmed with everything I thought I had already dealt with. It makes me question myself—why I’m still affected, why I’m not “over it” yet.
But deep down, I know healing doesn’t work in a straight line. It comes in waves. Some days you feel strong and fine, and other days the pain returns like it never left. That doesn’t mean I failed to heal—it just means I’m still processing something that truly hurt me deeply.
Right now, it just feels heavy… but I’m still here, still trying, still moving forward even when it doesn’t feel like it.
