To be fair, I think one reason he stops being serious (aside from the writing changes) is because, of his unresolved trauma and it's just how he copes with it. His Mom, Dad, Brother, Best Friend.

Age of ultron is my favorite MCU movie purely because of ultron himself and the lift the hammer scene. Having the avengers all just chilling, laughing, and enjoying life is something we don’t get now
