Man my hot take is that we’ve gone too far with all these mental struggles. Someone doesn’t like the sound of people chewing > misophobia. Someone gets annoyed > overstimulated. Someone procrastinates > ADHD. If everyone has some sort of mental struggle, then we’re just describing normal human traits. It waters down people who actually have ADHD, people who actually have an anxiety disorder, or people with actual phobias. People use it as an excuse sometimes: I just get angry all the time because of [mental issue]… instead of “I need to learn to control my impulses.”
