A good rule of thumb is use the specific variation of the LNY holiday that specific person is celebrating! Since rednote users are mostly Chinese, they’re specifically celebrating Chinese New Year!

Thank you. Chinese new year date has also factored in solar calendar. It’s not completely based on lunar calendar. Please add solar into the phrase if you insist on getting rid of the Chinese wording!

The world loves gossip :
China New Year is different from the Lunar New Year in Southeast Asia. The lunar calendar in China is a comprehensive calendar of the sun and the moon. Southeast Asia is full of the moon.

If they want to get rid of the shadow of ancient Chinese rule, they should not celebrate Chinese New Year again

Sorry you felt that way, but the Chinese simply are trying to make sure foreigners know that it's originated from China and not vietnam/korea. The vietnamese are trying to change CNY to LNY.

A good understanding shows that the Chinese New Year was changed to the lunar new year for political purposes, and the lunar calendar is also Chinese.

Chinese new year is based on chinese calendar 农历(nongli). I don’t like people who don’t even celebrate the holiday try to give us a new name which is incorrect.

In America it’s always Chinese New Year until Koreans and Vietnamese steal it in recent years. It’s invented by Chinese ancestors. Lny is designed to remove Chinese culture root disrespectful

Chinese new year has been there for thousands of years. The so-called lunar new year is recently invented for anti-China agenda.

Chinese traditions. Chinese zodiac. Chinese calender. Chinese lanterns. Chinese characters. Hong Bao. Lion dance. All Chinese. Don’t let western media propaganda change it to LNY.

Back then China ruled Vietnam for a couple hundred years and changed their culture. They renamed Chinese new year to tet and they change one of the zodiac to a cat.
