The most difficult thing for an alcoholic is to accept defeat , accept that they are powerless in controlling alcohol. It's a feeling of failure. But accepting that you have failed in controlling alcohol is actually the biggest Victory and the biggest win. Accepting that we have lost the battle with alcohol is the best Win. Because you never have to go back in to that battle again, you walk away with freedom, Freedom from an enemy that has no hands or legs and no weapons. leaving alcohol alone , will give you back a life you have never had or always wanted.. I've spent a lot of years sober and slipped many times. I'm going into a 3 year being sober . and I intend to keep being sober. identifying what triggers you to drink is very important as well.. staying away from slippery places slippery people and situations is most important to maintain
