Gov. Aris orders probe into new "Coral Vandalism" incident in Panglao. Another case of coral vandalism has surfaced in the waters of Panglao, drawing outrage from divers and environmental advocates. A recent video showing damaged and defaced corals has gone viral, sparking public condemnation over the continued abuse of the province’s marine resources. Concerned citizens called the act a disgrace and a threat to both marine life and Bohol’s tourism industry, saying some individuals “take pleasure in destroying nature or sabotaging local tourism.” The incident has already reached the attention of Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado, who immediately ordered an investigation into the matter. The Governor directed the LGU Panglao, DENR, MENRO Panglao, and the Bohol Environment Management Office (BEMO) to conduct a joint probe and identify those responsible. "Naa napod lain nga corals nga gi-vandalized sa mga irresponsible nga mga tawo. Murag naa gyud uban nga malipay sa pagdaot sa atong kinaiyahan or sabotahion ang atong Tourismo. Calling the attention of LGU Panglao, DENR, MENRO Panglao, and BEMO — please investigate this incident and take appropriate action. " Gov Aumentado said. Authorities remind the public that coral vandalism is a serious environmental offense, punishable under the Philippine Fisheries Code and environmental protection laws. Bohol, known for its pristine marine sanctuaries and world-class dive sites, has repeatedly appealed to visitors and locals alike to practice responsible tourism and protect the province’s natural treasures. #ProtectBohol #SaveOurCorals #PanglaoBohol
