What I figured would eventually happen… But really hoped wouldn’t… And what I really thought I was prepared for… But ✨TOTALLY✨ wasn’t… ABSOLUTELY DID. Yet ✨ANOTHER✨ denial on the reconsideration for my Social Security Disability case. I flipped, I spiraled, I raged, I exploded, I imploded, I melted down & then I (mostly) got the fuck over it & I got my ass to work. I’m to the point where I was last time in December 2021 — after going back & forth with them since originally applying in April 2020, but gave up on & tried going back to work after almost 2 years off — I’m at the point where I can request a hearing with an Administrative Law Judge & they can make a decision on it. I already downloaded the form & completed it & I spent all night contacting every single psych center, doctor, counselor, therapist, treatment center, chiropractor, hospital, rehab center & surgery center I could possibly think of in the last 12.5 years & requested my entire medical record & I’ve explained why & what’s going on. I also contacted each of those state’s state health departments & healthcare registration departments & in a couple of cases, even the parent company that owns that psych center or behavioral health network (and pretty much the entirety of the US & UK healthcare systems too, it looks like ) Universal Health Services, Inc. & requested them & asked how we can expedite this so I can be done & move on with my boring little mentally ill life. I also made notes & wrote most of my personal statement that I have to return with that form to my local Social Security office so I’m going to get that done & printed by the end of the today & I’ll take it to them first thing tomorrow morning. Then, as the medical records start rolling in, I’m going to make 2 copies & keep 1 for myself for the hearing or to refer back to later if need be & the other copy is getting taken to the local office immediately so I can make sure they have the most recent, most informative, and most historical record for each. I honestly only know 2 other people on disability for their mental health & a judge had to approve both of theirs after 3-4 years too so I guess this is par for the course. ⛳️ NOTE: The Social Security Disability application & approval process absolutely asinine, completely antiquated, unnecessarily difficult & inexcusably slow.
