This isn’t something I noticed until I watched My Policeman. But I noticed a theme of showing love through mirror reflections—staring after their lover, viewing them together in a mirror, etc. Almost as a way to suggest that the taboo of loving each other is too much to be seen directly. They can’t look at each other directly, but their love can’t be looked at directly. It’s so heartbreaking.
