She belonged to the Pazyryk culture, a group of Scythian nomadic people who lived in the region. The Ice Maiden was found in a burial mound (kurgan) along with various artifacts, including clothing, jewelry, and horses, which indicate her high social status. Her body was adorned with intricate tattoos, and she was buried with a headdress and other items that suggest she may have been a shaman or a person of significant spiritual importance.
