@sophiemorrisofficial: Is it just me or is it getting worse year on year?! Some Supermarkets seem to just roll out seasonal confectionery back to back so there isn’t a single month where we can escape it! I just googled it and it’s 86 days away from Easter which is 20th April this year (plus I recorded this video on Monday which would have been 90 days away from Easter!) and already Aldi is using Easter as an opportunity to sell us more and more sugar. These shelves filled with Easter chocolate and sweets like brightly coloured ducks and bunnies are so appealing to kids which makes going to the supermarket extremely challenging for parents with their kids, I’ve gotten to the point where I very rarely bring my kids to the supermarket because of this. it’s also very hard for anyone who struggles with sugar cravings to be constantly seeing shelves like this all year round. The reality is 6 out of 10 people in Ireland are overweight or obese which increases risk of disease. Our food environment has a very big part to play in this and I strongly feel retailers have a responsibility as they are in control of our food shopping environment. Do you agree with this?
