@vocalabau: Thick, sticky mucus can be so annoying when you are trying to sing. It can be even more annoying if you have a habit of throat clearing or coughing. Chewing gum or sucking on a lolly are just a few of the things you can try to help thin out thickened mucus, reduce your throat clearing habit and make it easier to remember to swallow instead. If this doesn’t work for you, you can try: • Steaming • Nebulising 0.9% sterile saline • Drinking more liquid/adding electrolytes to your water • Nasal rinse • SOVT exercises to help shift the mucus.
