I’m in the exact same boat as you and I just don’t understand how our own people can be so heartless. Our parents opened the door for us, we can’t close it for those that come after us

My dad came in 1965 and he was able to get residency during 1986. He was able to fix my mom’s papers shortly. My parents were here in the right place at the right time. But we would never ever turn our backs against our own people. 💔

My parents came here then went back to Mexico then came back, had me, then went back to Mexico bc they did it “right” w/ visas. They came back when h was 3 & started the GC process

My mom lost her chance at residency by a month or so. Her job was going to get her a visa, and right before they filed the gov overturned it. They were so close

my dad came during the regan era, when he renewed it this year it took FOREVER to find out if he was approved. he’s literally been a legal resident for decades and it still wasn’t easy.

The source reason my mother is getting her papers is because of the amnesty from RR, which my uncle’s wife’s family got. Through him my grandmother got her residency, through my gma goes my mom.

So that means we should abolish immigrations laws and simply have an open border for tens of millions of foreigners to just walk across if they want to 🤡

My mom had her work visa and her employer helped her get her citizenship, since I was on the way - my parents got married and they both got their papers; together for 20yrs

So true. My grandparents came to the US under the bracero program. They got sponsored by their employer and were able to get residency/citizenship. My father is a US citizen cause of this.

Most of my family was able to get their citizenship and one our cousins is on anti immigration rant and it’s so insulting considering where and how his parents got here
