@packlyferescue: Does anyone else’s dogs joints get Hygromas? This is very painful and uncomfortable for dogs. It’s caused by repetitive trauma that happens when elbows or knees are constantly hit on hard surfaces. Usually happening to special-needs dogs or seniors. Mickey has MG, which is myasthenia gravis. His muscles give out sometimes and he results in walking on his elbows and knees. He learned to walk slowly so they don’t bang on the ground. Although sometimes when he gets excited they hit harder than he expected, and then a hygroma is formed. If large enough, he is unable to lay down and get up. Also, it causes pain and he does not feel good. We have tried expensive braces, wraps, medicine and nothing has helped. We resulted in making an in-home wrap. We had this idea because we needed something with padding. Then we found a doggy diaper, which had padding and Velcro. That combined with an elastic gauze tape it stays on pretty good. Sometimes he wants to be funny and take it off with his mouth. The hygroma with the padding goes away in a couple days and then he can move around again and remembers not to bump his elbows. He’s a very smart boy! Some dogs get these things drained but puncturing these fluid built balls could result in rupturing. A rupture in the joint is very dangerous and could cause infection. Luckily Mickey’s isn’t as bad as some senior dogs or other dogs. His goes away and it doesn’t come back for months since he knows how to maneuver without hitting his elbows or knees. But when he gets really week he does get them, we need to take care of them fast. This is just a quick video of how we do it and we know there are many different methods but any ideas help! Thanks for watching!

KT tape! Off-brand from WalMart works great. SO much better than ace/vet wrap. Only thing that gave me protection & support without being painful or too limiting. Worked for my dog's split dewclaw too

my Great Dane who isn’t even 2 yet has developed one of these on his elbow and he’s so hyper and strong. I can’t do much to prevent this, also wasn’t aware it could be dangerous as result of bursting

Tengo una perra de raza grande. Le di antibiótico, la hice bajar de peso y le puse alfombras y colchones para que no repose el codo en el piso, ya se le curó. No hace falta cirugia
