I have a reactive dog it boggles my mind that the hosts would think it's anything other than their responsibility to make sure guests & service animals are safe while they work with a trainer!

I am glad you had been refunded because it was fair. But still on the point that you should ask before booking. Even with ADA, as i said if someone replies you they put « no pet » because one of host

I think people's response to this wasnt as sympathetic or understanding of your situation as I would have thought. Whilst Mr Maple is more than a service dog hes part of your family and like people hes not on 24/7 but he could be and as you have said countless times when hes working hes not a pet. round of hugs to you all especially to Mr Maple who it is clear in my mind would have been at risk thankfully you didnt stay with those hosts.

I don’t think it was a threat, it sounded more like letting you know that there are pets on the property and they might be aggressive with Mr. Maple. I’m glad you got it resolved though, rightfully!

My issue that I didn’t see brought up is what if you didn’t email them ahead of time, when you’re not required to, showed up with Mr. Maple and he got attacked!!

It feels weird booking somewhere that says no pets,and although legally Mr Maple is not a pet,my instincts would say that there must be a reason they don't want any animals and I'd avoid.Refund though
