@stockweatherman: Replying to @Johnny Fast I used to say “buy local” to. I was wrong. People will starve if we tried to do that. Lose too many calories at the global level and wages are too low to support local 100%. And starting a homestead or farm isn’t cheap. #buylocal #economics #tariff #homestead
I like Aldi responding to demand by using better ingredients.
tariffs could work accompanied with the elimination of the IRS and huge spending cuts

I live in Mississippi. We cannot grow wheat here. It is too humid. I'm a home gardener, but I recognize my local limitations.

I’m big on local I think one needs to factor in the overall health benefits into the equation as well. Profit is just not $.

I personally think agriculture is going to start to change in the favor of smaller producers.

Heard the same thing during and after the Brexit campaign. The supermarkets have been rolling in it 💵 since we left the eu, so I doubt the “buy local” crowd are actually buying local at all.

Dude, my wife wants to buy more chickens this year and start selling eggs. I’m not sure it’s a wise move. I’d rather purchase a profitable business and manage that than grow my own.

Great synopsis mate. People don’t know how to be self sufficient any more and are almost completely reliant on the global supply chain. Here in Australia we are lucky to have local growers which helps
