I'm confused, if tariffs don't really work and the American consumer will be the one who pays the price, why are people applauding Canada for doing tariffs? by the same logic doesn't it just hurt canadians?

Lets say the lumber is Canada is 100 and the US version is 110. After the tariff, the Canadian one will be 125. Now, do you think the US version will still be 110? FK no, they are going to raise it to 124. 😂😂😂

Why does no one understand the concept of tariffs and why don’t they understand that the U.S does not have all the raw materials needed to manufacture regardless we still need to import.

as a Canadian, it'll be tough for a few years but once we get set up to trade with the EU/Germany we will be fine. I'm scared for yall tho... you're damaging relationships that will never come back.

If it’s the US companies that pay the tariffs when importing goods and the cost is passed onto US customers than why is it considered a punishment to the other country? How is that country impacted?
