Our old church almost did not let my husband get baptized bc they felt he was not ready yet and he would end up being rebatized later…. He did not grow up in church and I did, so I sat in on the last meeting and argued back every last one of their points until they conceded. He’s faith has continued to grow and we no longer go to that church (not bc of that but still)

Sorry, the Bible doesn’t say anywhere that you need a class to qualify to be baptized. You were right you just show up and accept Christ as your Savior

yeah, theres a certain level of arrogance people have when they "know for sure" they will be blessed with a peaceful afterlife. but also theres a great deal of shame people feel when they know theyre leading a bad life and they wont get that. and thats not the case for all people, just do your best. let God sort it out.
