As a person with endo they may be asking because most contraception medications (the pill, IUD, etc) slow the growth of endo and can stop you bleeding resulting in reduced pain, it’s hormonal so is def relevant but also get your point too as a queer person

Omg the same thing happened to me 😭 Dr asked me if I was sxuly active and I was like “yes but dw though I’m not pregnant” and she was like “no form of contraception is 100% effective” and I was like “I AM NOT PREGNANT” and she was like “we’ll do a pregnancy test to make sure…” and I was just like “uhhhhhh… I’m gay” and she was so mortified omg 😅

medically the contraceptive options are also used for things other than preventing pregnancy. it would be good if this could be clearer on forms. like: do you take .... for ..... as I see this a lot, but women can be on it for a number of reasons.

i think that the contraception question is more toward the kind of birth control that you’re in because it does so heavily affect your hormones - just speaking as someone who has gone through the whole endometriosis process :))) i could be wrong but !!

this reminds me of the time my Dr sent me for an internal ultrasound and the tech asked me if I was 'active' so I let them know I was but only with women at that point. I was told I could still 'technically' be a virgin and the tech refused to do internal ultrasounds on virgin's 🙃
