Hairstylist here! Your scalp does need stimulation, but you can just use your fingers & im sure it didn’t cause hair loss, it just did its job & helped release the fall out. Silk pillows do help1/2

If something’s expensive for its size it’s most likely a concentrate so you in theory are using much less. Also, silk pillowcases make such a difference

The scalp massager actually helps my hair get clean. I used to have to wash it every day bc of how oily it got. Now I can go 4+ days. Because a lot of it has to do w your hair getting fully clean
