it always feels like setting these alternatives up for failure. these might be tasty otherwise or could be useful in ways bacon isn't, but they won't taste like it and so people are disappointed

The problem with these is they try to replace instead of being their own thing. You CANNOT remake bacon. It will NEVER be the same. This is prob a great salad topper or sandwich ingredient though

It sounds good, can't account for the taste because I didn't try it, but it's one of those things that if you were like, "its acrispy rice paper snack" is be happy but if you said it was a bacon

i used to make this but with marinated tofu crumbled up in between the rice paper which makes it much nicer

I used to make this when I was vegan it never tasted good by itself but on BLTs, in wraps, on pizza, and on top of salads ?!!? FIRE.
