Iron levels alone don’t tell the whole story. Even if a test shows that there’s “normal” levels of iron, it doesn’t mean it’s being stored or used. This is where symptoms like fatigue, hair thinning, brain fog, and always being sick can still show up, despite “normal” iron levels.🩸 In this case, your body may not be storing enough iron. This is where ferritin comes in. Ferritin is the storage form of iron, like a bank account holding reserves for when your body needs it. If your ferritin is too low, you might not have enough iron to support you, even if your iron levels look fine on paper. 🔥On the other hand, if ferritin is too high, it could mean inflammation, not just excess iron. 📋 I run this test at my clinic in conjunction with iron levels. 💌Send this to a friend! Are you struggling with iron?💭
