Leg day was something I avoided for years. Mind you, I have been an #amputee for 16 years and just started to #workout four years ago. But when I was starting to workout, I only focused on my upper body because I knew that my legs were so limited. For added context, when I got meningitis my knees barely survived so I wasn’t able to do a lot of things easily, including going upstairs well. But once I got into working out, a year and a half into it, I started to do #lowerbody, and I regret not doing it sooner. Once I #dedicated lower body into my workout regiment, I started to see a huge Improvement on walking on and downstairs. As you can tell, this is not a strong suit of mine. I struggle and have to #adapt when it comes to squats. You’ll see that I’m using a landline to do single leg #deadlifts, but I also have a workout bench on my other side to help with my #balance. That’s why you’ll see me use a #smithmachine because they help me with my balance. Don’t be afraid to do something that you haven’t done before especially if you know that you have to do it differently. Just do it! You’ll have to adapt and you’ll be much happier knowing you can do it! It might be different but don’t let that stop you.
