I’ve had to explain to literally everyone in my life that no, my chickens don’t need a heater and yes, it is a real fire hazard. Such a common misconception!

I use radiant heat with a thermocube ❤️best thing for them ! It’s above their heads so it helps with frost bite

We use heat lamps in Canada, use electrical grade staples to hang and keep your lamps and coop clean 🧼 no problem 😉

But in MI it was -20 and I am worried its to cold for them and I bought one if those heat plates but it barely heated up at all

We had something like that in our tote for our hatchlings, you could lay it down with towels over top of it so they don’t get too high or you can stand it up. There’s like 80 bucks, but it’s so worth

Its the only choice i live in sub-zero regions and 3 heat lamps is not even enough to keep the coop above freezing temperature

my son in law is a captain at one of the fire stations; so he has already informed me about heat lamp danger. I've promised I won't have heat for mt coop

Yes, our friends lost EVERYTHING dt a heat lamp- barn, house, all & escaped only w their children & everyone's pjs they were wearing despite using all safety measures 😞

Our heat lamp in my parent’s coop exploded and caught the coop on fire one day, thankfully we had extinguishers nearby but it was scary
