the tariff gets passed to us the end consumer (true) BUT we can buy the same product elsewhere cheaper. it hurts that country because demand decreases. they need us more than we need them. leverage

I’d prefer he target specific tariffs from Mexico. Like when auto manufacturers moved a huge sector to Mexico. 200% tariff would move these companies back to the US.

Because these tarrifs will help fund our treasury verses the American people having to fund the whole treasury. It will also cause American companies to move back to US, which creates jobs.
