Their is no way of knowing if this is just because people interpret the question differently

People who can’t visualize: is reading nonfiction any fun at all?

I can visualize the apple, rotate it, zoom in & out, and change it on the fly. It's closest to example 1. But I'd never mistake it for reality.

There is another dimension to this. I believe many people feel they can actually SEE what they imagine exactly like a vivid dream or watching a movie. Others can "visualize" things and rotate them and

isn't the visualization thing just a function of IQ?

I’m so blown away by the lack of visualization thing that it seems like a hoax. What do you mean you can’t imagine? What happens when you recall your dreams? Don’t you fantasize?

Could someone who can’t visualize things when they close their eyes explain to me what dreams are like for you? Because sometimes I confuse what happened in a dream for what happened in real life

not only can I imagine anything I want visually I don't even need to close my eyes to do it. I can picture things in my mind with my eyes open. not just rotate. I can create scenes of anything I've

I can make my eyes shake rapidly.
only other person I have ever met that can do it is my daughter.
it has served me exactly zero purpose in life.

I literally just had a conversation with my son about this. Also, nobody asked, but I can do the eye and ear thing, and possibly unrelated, I have an appalling memory for names.

I think this is the question’s fault. I can “visualize” a fully 3d rotating apple in full detail/color, but I can’t “see” it at all if I close my eyes (unless I’m close to falling asleep)

My problem is when i imagine something i must focus to make a small size of that image detailed while the rest is blurry/unfocused. I can only focus on parts of the full image to make them detailed.

I don't understand. Who can't visualize an apple and rotate it? 🤨

I can do the eye thing. It let me do magic eye so easily. I found out others can’t do that when they struggled with magic eye

Funny, I’ve been a 5 most of my life, but now I have visual effects, like moving energy, especially when aligning chakras. I can control my ears and I can defocus my eyes and see auras. It’s weird.

Da Vinci's vision awes me. He made accurate drawings of bird wings in flight and water splashes from raindrops that we could not verify until we developed high-speed photography!

I can visualize very little and I cannot do the magic eye things. Only once or twice. I do, however, have a very verbal inner monologue.

I’ve always said that the first one is just a lack of understanding. We all see “black” but have varying levels of that maladaptive daydreaming technique that lets us “see” the nothingness.

I can do all 3. My hyperfantasia is actually debilitating. For instance, there’s a decent chance I will lock up and mentally create a whole world of lore about that apple if I think about it too long.

It explains why some people get REALLY ANGRY when I tell a visually detailed story. They can’t see the picture I’m painting in their mind! They think I’m giving unnecessary detail!
