Each year, the beloved rodent emerges from its burrow in Gobbler’s Knob, where it spent the winter hibernating. According to folklore, people can expect wintry weather for six more weeks if Phil sees his shadow, and an early spring if he doesn’t. Speaking to onlookers Sunday, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro called it “one of the greatest days" of the year.
