As South Africa prepares for 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence, we are more determined than ever to stand against this concert, scheduled just days after this critical commemoration. Our petition is about more than one artist. It’s about amplifying the voices of millions of silenced women, honoring their struggles, and declaring with conviction: South Africa will not celebrate those with a history of violence against women. This is a stand for dignity, justice, and a future where no survivor feels unheard or unsupported. We are thrilled to share that we are close to reaching 50,000 signatures on our petition to stop Chris Brown from performing in South Africa. Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, and supported this important petition. Your voices are being heard! This petition has sparked a critical and important conversation about holding convicted abusers accountable, especially in South Africa, where femicide rates are five times higher than the global average. Thank you to the thousands of supporters standing with us. Your love and support have been felt. Since the petition's launch on 2 October 2024, more than 130 articles and interviews have been published in national and international media. Renowned outlets such as BBC, Billboard, Reuters and others have covered our petition, amplifying its importance. Despite online harassment, threats, and misinformation spread about our team and organisation, we remain strong and will not be silenced. We have taken legal action against those responsible for these online attacks. In the next two weeks, we will deliver our petition directly to Big Concerts, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture. This is not just about accountability - we, most importantly, need to change the way forward. We must rethink who we allow entry into our country, ensure concerts and festivals are safe spaces for everyone, and set a new standard for protecting women and children. Keep signing, sharing, and fighting for a tomorrow where safety is not an exception but the norm. LINK IN OUR BIO. #womenforchange #endviolenceagainstwomen #mutechrisbrown
