elite marathoner: training diaries Yesterday I ran a long run reps and floats workout, 24km total with just over 14km of volume (the main bulk of the session) ran at 3:34/km. So today's training was nice and simple, 21km of easy running around London. There's a few non negotiables I keep in place no matter what training I have on that day. 1. fuelling before, I've talked about this time and time again but for me this is absolutely crucial - I have a high weekly training load and suffered stress fractures back in 2022 so I am always trying to do everything I can to keep my energy availability up - so never training fasted is a big one for me.  2. having my electrolytes, yes it's winter and yes it's cold, but this doesn't make electrolytes any less important - I'm always thinking of the training cycle rather than the individual day. For example yesterday I had a hard intervals session, strength work in the gym, and also sat in the sauna for 30 minutes - so keeping my salt levels in balance is very, very important so that my body is ready to handle the next session I have coming up.  when choosing electrolytes you want to identify ones with high amounts of sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium, hence why I use the @Puresport electrolytes as these tick all the boxes there.  21.1km ran @ 4:10/km Shoes: Puma mag max Socks: always the puresport socks Sweater weather: minted New York Electrolytes: puresport Post Run coffee: august bakery #fyp #marathontraining #runwithme #marathonrunner #runnergirl #trainingdiaries #runner #halfmarathontraining
